About Us

Gethsemane Baptist Temple is an independent Baptist church in the town of Starr about 15 minutes from downtown Anderson, SC. Our church began in 1991 under the leadership of our pastor, Sam Duncan.

As our service schedule shows, we are a very busy congregation with lots of opportunities for fellowship for people of all ages. There is a nursery during all Sunday and Wednesday services, as well as a class for children during the 11:00 am and 6:00pm Sunday services. During the 10:00 am hour on Sunday, we have over a dozen Sunday school classes for all ages and stages of life. On Wednesday, the church property is filled with children in our gym, teens in the youth group, and adults in the sanctuary.

On Monday, we host the Seek the Truth ministry, and on Thursday we are the home of Savannah Valley Bible College. We also have times of outreach through visitation ministries that meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we also meet before the Wednesday service to prepare gospel tract shipments as a mailing center for the Fellowship Tract League.
